Participation in Rugcutterz’ competitive programs is by audition only. In most cases, assessments are done in the summer during our workshop or during a special audition class. By taking classes in the workshop, the student can be assessed by the Director, and may then be initially placed into a company. This placement is based on the dancer’s ability, style, age and attitude in class. Throughout September, the teachers will continually assess all of the students to ensure they have been placed in the most appropriate company, and therefore may be moved to a different group during or after September. In any case, it is under the discretion of the Artistic Director, as to which company the student should participate in.

- Hair in Bun
- Jazz and Ballet Shoes (Please note if your child does not own these shoes they can audition in bare feet)
Male Audition Attire:
- Shorts

- Neat Hair
- Jazz, Running Shoes and Ballet Shoes (Please note if your child does not own these shoes they can audition in bare feet)
